Zelda: Ocarina of Time has moved to first place in the Famitsu most-wanted chart reported by Nintendo Everything on October 11, 2026. The Nintendo Switch 2 listing received 790 reader votes, putting it narrowly ahead of Pokémon Winds and Waves on 784. The six-vote gap makes this a close change at the top, rather than a runaway victory. For Zelda fans, the headline is renewed anticipation for Link’s adventure; for everyone else, the important qualification is that these numbers measure a particular reader poll.

The numbers and the voting window

The voting period ran from September 16 to September 29. That matters because the October 11 publication is newer than the opinions being counted. Persona 6 on PS5 placed third with 689 votes, followed by Persona 4 Revival on PS5 with 663. Grand Theft Auto 6’s PS5 listing appeared seventh with 371. Multiple games are listed separately by platform, so these positions should not be treated as a combined ranking of each franchise across every system.

This is a reader poll, not sales data or a new Nintendo announcement. Our interpretation: it is useful as a discovery prompt, but not as a prediction of worldwide commercial performance.

How to use this news when choosing a game

Our take: the useful part of a poll like this is discovery. If a familiar name has brought you back to gaming, use the list as a starting point rather than a shopping instruction. Check the official product page for the current edition, platform and release information before making plans. A ranking should never replace details about what a game actually offers.

For returning Zelda players, think about what you want from revisiting a classic: exploration, dungeon puzzles, characters or simply a new way to play an adventure you remember. For newcomers, separate the reputation of the original from the features of the specific version you are considering. Those are different decisions, and an anticipation poll cannot make either one for you.
